Millennial Money: Living In An $1,850/Month Loft in Yonkers, NY

Denise Francis, 27, spends $1,850 per month to live in a Loft in Yonkers, New York. After saving $20,000 since she was 21, she chose to lease out her dream apartment.

“Since moving here, I’ve been grateful enough not to touch my savings. I only used a small portion of it  when I was first getting the apartment to help me with my upfront costs,” she said.

She still continues to grow her savings, despite the $4,700 upfront fees and the additional monthly rent.

She is currently the Arts and Culture Director for a non-profit in Brooklyn as well as the CEO and Founder of a self-love organization designed to promote community among African American women.
